Morgan_G_WW_Photo.jpgWe are happy to announce another talent acquisition at PARTNERSINWEALTH, as we lay the foundation for the ongoing success of the firm, and you our clients, well into the future. Our newest PERSONALCFO, Morgan Grice, joined us in June of 2016. Her arrival is something of a homecoming. The League City native is returning to live in the Houston area for the first time since graduating from Harvard University in 2006.

“I could not be happier,” Morgan said, “to have found a group of such dedicated, professional and humble individuals with whom to continue my career in comprehensive financial planning.”

We feel just as fortunate that she has joined us.

In college Morgan was the editorial chair of Harvard’s newspaper, The Crimson, and began her career as a financial journalist at Bloomberg News in New York City. As such, she had a front row seat to the financial crisis that brought on the Great Recession. Seeing the ruin that made of so many people’s finances and, by extension, their lives, started her thinking about the role of proper financial planning. Eventually she took a position with MetLife Premier Client Group in West Virginia, working with a team of investment and insurance specialists.

“It was the greatest, if unexpected, career move I could imagine, as it sparked within me a genuine interest in helping individuals achieve an enduring financial peace of mind,” Morgan said. “I have long been committed to a life of continuous learning, and I believe there is no better industry to which I could apply that commitment than financial planning.”

Morgan is currently finishing her Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) education requirement by completing Boston University’s accelerated Financial Planning Program. After that she will sit for the CFP® exam.

“From ever-changing tax regulations that impact individuals’ financial lives to the evolving goals of each client, I will always remain committed to understanding the shifting landscape of the financial-services industry, as well as our clients’ objectives and ambitions.”

Morgan is a film buff, and even wrote reviews while at Bloomberg. Her son, Lucas, born this past January, is named for Paul Newman’s character in Cool Hand Luke. In the next few years, with him on the scene, she doesn’t foresee having as much time for movies as before. But she’s very happy Lucas will be growing up close to his grandparents in League City.

The next time you are at the office, please take a minute to welcome Morgan. She will be using her skills and her passion for lifetime learning to help financially successful families like yours remove clutter and worry from their lives, grow their net worth and live their dreams. If you need to discuss any of these topics with us, please contact your PERSONALCFO or Jim Waters, CFP®, at 713.964.4028 or jrw@partnersinwealth.com.
