In an earlier WEALTHWISE, I informed you that my long-term plan for the firm includes key professionals at PARTNERSINWEALTH becoming part-owners. This process is now underway, and I’m excited to report that on September 28, Jeffrey E. Riley, CLU, CFP, became our first minority shareholder.
I have been the sole shareholder for many years, so this is a significant change. But it’s also an exciting one that begins to lay the foundation for the firm continuing to serve and improve clients’ lives beyond my own eventual retirement—which I hope is still quite a few years away.
You may recall that Jeff moved here from Michigan, where he worked with Prudential, to join us as a PERSONALCFO. He currently serves on the board of directors for the Houston chapter of the Society of Financial Services Professionals (FSP). With FSP, he has a passion for bringing more young people into the organization and the financial services profession. With PARTNERSINWEALTH, he has a passion for bringing clarity and confidence to your financial life.
“I enjoy helping families and individuals fit their financial ‘puzzle pieces’ into a picture that is an accurate reflection of their situation and aimed at what they wish to achieve in life,” Jeffrey said. “I’m excited to be a shareholder and look forward to continuing to serve clients as well as working with Jim in guiding PARTNERSINWEALTH into the future.”
Over time we’ll be adding more shareholders. They’ll be people who, like Jeff, are highly skilled and passionate about helping clients through the PERSONALCFO approach. As I see it, executing the long-term plan is a little like allocating a portfolio—bringing the best people into key positions of responsibility, watching them grow from team-mates into owners with a deep stake in the PARTNERSINWEALTH brand, and finally seeing how that culminates in fulfilling a long term plan that benefits both us and you our clients. It’s a process that, like retirement planning, takes patience, but is very satisfying to see come to fruition.
As the process continues, I will keep you informed each step of the way. In the meantime, be sure to congratulate Jeff on his new status next time you visit the office. And please let us know if you have any questions or concerns. We want to be your sounding board for all financial matters, and your peace of mind is our ultimate goal.
